[Wildly Inspired]

I happened upon the Wildly Inspired line of miniatures in a Yahoo club and promptly ordered up a couple dozen samples (they sell their miniatures individually). (Update May 1, 2005: The company seems to be in limbo - a visit to their web site still bears a “coming soon under new management” message which has been running since late 2003) Upon opening the British infantry I was somewhat taken aback. There was a lot of flash all over the place, and the seam ran right through the figures face. After about 10 minutes with an X-acto knife I had trimmed away the excess flash and was ready to get this figure painted.

This is another line that looks somewhat “gnomish.” The torso is far too stocky for the scale, the legs are undersized, the hands too large. On the plus side, the detail in the uniform and equipment is good, and once painted makes a decent looking soldier. However, the amount of clean up required for each figure (and I ordered a dozen different items) makes this a very labor-intensive selection to do in any quantity.

Figures are ordered individually which is convenient as you can order exactly what you need. I ordered direct and the service was prompt (I had my figures in 20 days from ordering - they shipped from New Zealand to the US).
