Fantassin are, in my opinion, second only to AB in overall quality. As you can see, this is a nicely posed and beautifully detailed soldier. Anatomically correct and with the kinds of detail that makes painting a real joy.

The head, for example, has a nice face and good detail around the ears. All of the equipment straps are complete and easy to follow. Furthermore, each detail is distinct from its neighbors - no “scrambled eggs” here.

I do have a few minor issues. The backpacks on many of their figures are far too narrow. They do have a fair amount of flash which is easily removed, but adds to the prep time (still, not as bad as Minifigs in that regard). Lastly they do not have the variation in poses of AB or Old Glory. While they do have a number of poses for each troop type it is to be hoped they will add more over time - variety being an intrinsic good.

The figures come eight per pack (most bags have two poses) and are relatively inexpensive. They are a Spanish brand and are beginning to find distribution here in the States. I order mine from CGM - they are always in stock and even with postage from Spain, a great value! For reasons that should be obvious, I buy from myself!
