Ages and ages ago I agreed to review two ranges of moderns: those from Rebel Minis seen here, and the ranges from QRF. Finally, here is the result! (To see how they might mix with QRF look here.)
Rebel Minis produce a variety of 15mm miniatures designed to let you game out events from today’s headlines. The ranges include police and special forces from around the world, as well as some more unusual figures.
I’ll start with the bad guys. These are somewhat generic “armed Gunmen” suitable for standing in as bank robbers, terrorists, or any other kind of “hired gun” your game may call for.
Overall I like this figure quite a bit. The stance is natural and realistic. The weapon has enough detail to make out the well known AK-47. The overall proportions of the figure also look quite good. The hands are large, tis true, but otherwise this is a very fine figure. Like wise his comrade in arms. Put these two characters in your next skirmish, and you know somebody is gonna’ get hurt!
Like the first example, the overall proportions and stance are spot on. The casting as you can see is quite good, and there was no flash at all on either model (or any of the other samples I received).
The good guys are also up to the same quality standards, as you can see below (my apologies for the fuzzy photos - my new camera is giving me fits - they will be replaced if time allows).
Rebel Minis continue to add to their ranges, having added 15mm Zombies, Hostages, Spetznatz and many others. Definitely worth checking out!
