First Glance: When I first got my AWI army in the mail I had this to say. One note about the poses: they come in big bags and in many cases might be hard to base in 2 ranks.

Anatomy: The anatomy of the range is overall pretty good. A bit skimpy in the legs, perhaps, but not bad. The rest of the build is solid. Limbs bend in the right places, hands are actually hand-sized, and the heads are not swelled. The faces are unexceptional, but at lest they got the feet the right size!

The Finer Things: The details here are very well done. The musket is very nicely detailed (including a visible hammer and pan), as are the boots and straps. The detail is moderate in contrast, and reminds me somewhat of the Minifigs style.

Second Chances: The range is pretty consistent across the range, from what I can tell. The major discrepancy seems to be in the size of the bayonets - some are long wicked things, others are mere stubs. Otherwise this is a nice range - sadly it is rather limited in scope and no new items seem to have been added in a while.

While you can’t do the entire war in these Valent/Washington’s Wars figures, they cover the basics, and are just about eh best bargain around. A great way to get in to the era quickly and cheaply.
